In my high school years, back in the late 1970s the early 1980s I didnt take to well to learning history. Either it was too slow of a subject for me then, or not an interesting enough teacher to teach the subject, history. Whatever the reason, fast forward twenty-three years and put the book and instructor in front of me and Ill find an interest in the subject being taught. I believe the American Indian Policy was caused by the 1840s Manifest Destiny. The Manifest Destiny has us to believe that the white people are the better race. It goes to say that God loves the white people and that the white people are his chosen ones, his Christians. Being Gods people that puts us above every race and better than everyone else. We lived by our own rules and had our own authority. This is similar to the American Indian Policy. The Indians had no set of rules, laws, or terms.
